Before you can connect to the chat room, there are a few things that I would like to go over with you. These things basically cover how to connect to the chat room, what to do if you can't connect, and some basic rules that you should know and understand.
How to Connect
When you first load the chat room, you may be greeted with popup messages asking you for approval. Approve everything, this won't harm your computer in any fashion. It will just allow the software to load so you can connect to the chat room.
Connection Problems
If you have trouble connecting to a chat site, several causes are possible. These causes can be firewalls/proxies, poor Internet connections or a problem in your Java environment.
You may have problems viewing the chat room with Internet Explorer. If this is the case, you may have to update to the newest Java Virtual Machine. You can download the latest version from here. FireFox users shouldn't have a problem viewing the chat room.
WVGhosts Chat Etiquette and Rules
We encourage you to be responsible and to respect our community as well as others participating within the community. Your conduct should be guided by common sense, basic "netiquette", and these chat guidelines. When entering the chat room, you agree not to:
harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress or discomfort to another member, subscriber, user, or other individual or entity using or accessing the chat;
transmit via chat any information, data, graphics, text, files, links, software, or other materials ("Content") that are or may be considered to be unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, pornographic, obscene, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable, or in any way violates any copyright or other intellectual property or proprietary rights of any person;
impersonate in any person, including, but not limited to, a WVGhosts employee, host, or manager;
disrupt the normal flow of dialogue in a chat room or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other members;
post or transmit any advertising, promotional materials, or any other forms of solicitation to other members, in chat;
intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law, including but not limited to any regulations having the force of law while using or accessing chat or in connection with your use of chat in any manner.
WVGhosts can not ensure that chat messages may not contain material that could be offensive to some.
WVGhosts does not monitor or resolve disputes between users; however, we will revoke the membership of users who are continually abusive.
Occasionally, chats may be transcripted and posted.
Your public chats in WVGhosts chat rooms are not private.
WVGhosts reserves the right to reproduce any material you post. However, private messages between individuals are not recorded or logged.
WVGhosts does not verify any information posted by users or others or guarantee the proper use of such information by any party.
